First Step Are You Ready?

December 15, 2018 by Christine Matzen Leave a Comment

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step”

                                                     Lao Tzu

The hardest task is sometimes the smallest.  The first the beginning when the finish line is so far from sight.  Often the distraction of what may happen or the need to organize and plan can detour you from the most important step.

Just begin, your success for tomorrow or next year starts today.  Allowing yourself to be distracted or overwhelmed may derail your opportunity.  You could awaken 5 years later no closer to your goals.

To begin is at times a most important action step to finding success.  Remember the first step is only that, an action.  The action will not dictate the entire journey, nor will it guarantee success.  There is a possibility of failure if you take the first step but there is guaranteed failure if you do not.

Action plan

  • Ask yourself what is stopping you from taking that first step.
  • Do you have a clearly defined time-oriented goal?
  • What is the first action step that needs to be taken?
  • Do you have a strategic plan of steps that need to be taken to achieve success of the goal?

Challenge yourself and commit to take your first step today even if it is the smallest step. Gain momentum through action take that first step of a thousand today!
